It is the mission of the Island Trees Public Library to meet the
educational, informational, and recreational needs of the community.
We offer books, magazines, audio books on tape & CD, music CDs,
videotapes, and DVDs. We have eight public computers with Internet
access and Microsoft Office. Patrons can request material from
other libraries and return materials from other libraries. We
have lectures, crafts, and classes for all ages. Our newsletter
is mailed four times a year.
Our online databases, available from home, provide access to
immense resources not available on the open Internet, including
full-text archives of thousands of periodicals going back years,
and comprehensive works of reference, some of them specifically
intended for children or teens. From home patrons can search ALISCAT,
the catalogs of Island Trees and all other Nassau County Public
Libraries, and reserve and renew books.
